Bras Across the CAUSEway 2019 5k and 1-mile Fun Run
We want to thank everyone who participated with us during the Restaurant Rally on Thursday. This year’s event has been very special to all of us on the Bras Across the CAUSEway committee. Before the event begins, we wanted to get together some general information to let you know what to expect on Oct. 12th.
About the Run/Walk
The Bras Across the CAUSEway’s 3rd Annual 5k and 1-mile Fun Run will be held on October 12th at Meaher State Park (5200 Battleship Pkwy, Spanish Fort AL). The event is open for anyone to join us. We want to encourage you to share the event on social media, and cheer on our runners as they cross the finish line! Be sure to come hungry, because we have an amazing brunch put on by the Bras Across the CAUSEway Committee with the help of Cammie’s Old Dutch! Kids’ games and other activities will be located in the tent area to the right of the gatehouse.
Here is a list of when the events will begin.
- 7:30-Warm Up-Provided by Josh Foster
- 7:45- Survivor March- Survivors meet at the Survivor Tent to the right of the starting line
- 8:00-5K Race Start
- 9:00-Fun Run Start
Do I need to check-in?
Yes, check-in at the registration tent
Where do I park?
Parking will be located to the left upon entering the park-Signs will be posted
Is there a charge at the park gate?
Where are restrooms located?
Restrooms are located to the right of the park in the area of the tents-Additional restrooms are located on the race route just past the start line
What is the route for the race?
The race will start in the park and wind around the park and then enter the causeway at the backside of the park. The causeway will have one lane blocked off for the runners-water station will be available along the route
Will there be an award ceremony after the run?
Yes! Top male and female Overall and top three male and female in age groups: 9 and under, 10– 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-99. Fun Run finishers will receive ribbons.

Don’t miss out on the fun after the event is over! Ed’s Seafood Shed is hosting a Shrimp Boil from 11 AM – 2 PM. Eds’ will be offering a percentage off the shrimp boil platter which includes shrimp, sausage, corn & potatoes. Door prize, raffle “split the pot” guest gets half the pot and a bra! It is a great way to give back to our local community while enjoying our very own local flavors!
